Restaurant at Shelleys Hotel Description
A peaceful and beautiful 17th century manor house, in which the family of the poet Shelley once lived, and ideally located for anyone wishing to 'do' this outstanding part of Sussex whilst living well at the same time. The dining room is richly decorated, making an agreeable setting for the very British food which is an essential part of the experience.
The braised fillet of salmon with crushed potatoes and olives makes a cleansing starter leaving the palate refreshed but not clouded and capable of dealing with the breast of guinea fowl marinated in lime leaf and ginger. The rhubarb cheesecake with pomegranate sorbet, particularly in the early part of the season, is memorable. You will spend about £42 a head for the a la carte dinner, half that for lunch.

Shelleys is a lovely country house hotel and restaurant. The food is excellent. I had Beef Wellington, which turned out to be the best fillet steak I have ever eaten. In the bar before dinner we were given 'tasters' of that evenings menu, a great way to make your selection.
