The Stonehouse Court Hotel is a Grade II listed Tudor country house surrounded by six acres of stunning grounds overlooking the Stroud Water Canal and rolling hills of the Stroud Valley. The contemporary AA rosette restaurant blends the manor's classic charm with a relaxed contemporary style and offers modern British dishes that are given an affable Mediterranean and Asian twist. A tian of Cornish white crab with green apple and wasabi horseradish finished with a brown crabmeat dressing could give way to roast rack of Forest of Dean lamb with pancetta and gruyere Boulangere potato, lamb faggot, roasted plum tomatoes, and a balsamic jus. Desserts run to such dishes as lemon parfait with homemade lemon curd and Griottine cherry confit.
