Tan-y-Foel, or 'house under the hillside', offers the warmest of Welsh welcomes. Set in a valley in Snowdonia National Park, the 16th century hotel excels with the quality and imagination of the dishes, prepared often from organic produce, is of a very high standard. It is easy to see why Tan-y-Foel was voted Welsh Restaurant of the Year. The wine list offers a wide selection of sound wines, with eight house wines at £15 to £16.50 available by the glass.
