Restaurant at The Ambassador Hotel Description

Entering Gray's Restaurant at the Ambassador Hotel is rather akin to making an entry into the dining room of a discreet London club that long ago banished discrimination. The whole atmosphere creates an invitation to enjoy a civilised meal. Even the piano is there at weekends, bringing a welcome note of romance to proceedings. After due deliberation you might feel warm towards the game terrine served with a fig, lemon and elderflower compote. At the risk of seeming repetitive I would have to be hard-pressed to avoid the marinated Thai duck with an orange tartlet and whisky and marmalade sauce. The rhubarb trifle served with a syrup designed to take any tendency towards the cheek-sucking process would make a cleansing climax. A well-travelled wine list with house wine at £10.95.
