Restaurant at The Angel Hotel Description

The Angel was licensed in 1420.This may surprise those who think we English were not that well organised in such early days, but the English, for all their talk of freedom are really control freaks and if there's one thing they love controlling, it's the demon drink.

Anyway it does mean that at The Angel they have had a long time to get it right which, most of the time, they do. When they do it is well above average, at other times it can be slightly disappointing. Nobody seems able to put their finger on the cause for variations, and to be fair lapses are infrequent.

Such are the delightful and well-preserved medieval surroundings that one can soon forget any shortcomings and the well-priced wine list is there to assist the process.
