The Boat Inn is a firm favourite in our household! It is in a super setting right beside the River Dee in Aberdeenshire. The food is always good and freshly prepared with local ingredients. A particular favourite, and something the Boat Inn seems to be renowned for, is their lovely crispy haddock and chips, but there is quite a comprehensive menu and you don't have to wait long to be served. It isn't particularly ‘posh’ but it is very comfortable and I always think a sign of success - is how much it is used by the locals. Prices are very good and children - young and old, are always delighted when the staff operate the train set that is set on a continuous track on a shelf near the ceiling of the bar. I warmly recommend it to anyone visiting Aboyne at any time of the year, particularly at lunchtimes. Well done, Boat Inn!
