Restaurant at The Bridge House

Wilton, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 6AA

There are not many Georgian country houses in Ross-on-Wye that offer guests a more idyllic location than The Bridge at Wilton, a small boutique hotel that is located in partially walled gardens that slope gently down to the banks of the River Wye. While eight beautiful ensuite bedrooms keep guests comfortable, the two AA rosette restaurant and bar areas offer them a chance to sample a great range of food and drink. In good weather you could enjoy an impromptu barbeque out on the lawn while at other times the bar, with its period features and display of contemporary paintings, is the place to be. The restaurant menu offers pickled West Coast mackerel with hot smoked wild salmon, avocado sorbet and dill jelly followed by roast duck breast, pak choi, dried mandarin, dried lychee's, sesame and soy dressing, and a rich finale of dark chocolate Délice with espresso ice cream, pistachio praline and orange syrup.

REVIEWS OF Restaurant at The Bridge House

Richard Jones (7 December 2006)

Crucially I felt compelled to write a review! Incredible food, a wonderful experience, every part of the meal was an exceptional balance of flavours that demanded to be savoured. Quite simply the best meal I have ever eaten. Prepare to spend around £50 per head including wine, for the full experience and all courses. Expect many surprises this place endeavours to be the best in the region and appears ready to impress absolutely everyone who dines there. For me its there already!
