Restaurant at The Clytha Arms
Clytha, nr Abergavenny, NP7 9BW
This much-awarded pub/restaurant manages successfully to be all things to all people. So you won't find the locals grumbling about the foodies, some of whom are quite likely to be found sampling the excellent beers that are kept before they sit down to discover what Andrew and Sarah Canning have on offer for them. This might include black pasta with cockles and bacon. A real touch of genius is the Carribbean fruit curry with prawns, combining all the flavours of a gifted curry without losing the delicate qualities of the prawns. An enterprising wine list with good low-cost choices and ten house wines at £11.95 or £2.20 a glass.Modern, Welsh

REVIEWS OF Restaurant at The Clytha Arms
Kelly (17 May 2010)
I have eaten at The Clytha Arms many times and would always go back and recommend. Yes sometimes the service can be a little on the slow side, but if I'm eating out then I want to enjoy the atmosphere and the food, both of which The Clytha Arms has nailed amazingly! The place has the best selection of real ales, lagers, ciders, wine, and spirits I have ever seen in any bar, and it also has the best menus I have ever seen in any restaurant! Everything is cooked fresh! The pricing is fair for the quality you receive and I can't imagine a better area to enjoy my meal. I feel that other people need to be a little more realistic this is relaxed high class dining, not McDonalds!

We eat here regularly for Sunday lunch, and looking at the other reviews, I'm sure there must be a Clytha Arms in a parallel universe. The one we eat at, is never less than very good, have never had to wait long and the food is superb. The bar is well stocked with real ales, ciders and perries. The locals are very friendly and the place is a dog friendly pub too. We would always recommend!
