The County Kitchen, an AA Rosette restaurant that serves classic British food in a modern style, is housed in The County Hotel, which is a short distance from Chelmsford Town. Its light and airy interior dotted with attractive paintings provides a pleasant ambience for guests to enjoy the fine cuisine.

Start with mussels steamed in Aspall's Cyder with chilli and coriander and slow cooked red onion tart with Cerney Ash goat's cheese. For the main course order char-grilled local sirloin with hand cut chips, horseradish cream and roasted beetroot, and lemon roasted spatchcocked chicken with Savoy cabbage and potato dauphinoise. To end the meal your options include maple syrup crème brûlee served with biscotti, and apple and frangipan tart with orange ice-cream and vanilla sauce.

Entertainment events such as Mystery Murder Nights, Old School Discos and Dinner Dances are added attractions at this venue.
