Restaurant at The Crown Hotel Description

This is a pretty traditional restaurant with alcove areas for private dining. It offers both a fixed price menu, priced at £16.00 and £25.00, and an a la carte menu, which has a wide range of dishes. The restaurant is open for Sunday lunch, and every evening from 19:00 to 21:30. Only two miles away from the A1, in the pretty market town of Bawtry, the Crown Hotel has convenient access.

I had visited the crown last year for a wedding, in which both the service and food were a complete let down, after the redesign of the Crown I was expecting a truly spectacular experience, although (apart from the fire alarm being set off throughout the ceremony) I was treated to mushroom soup that somehow looked like gear oil from a vehicle, the main course got no better with a anorexic piece of chicken complete with the fattiest bacon slice, and some measly over cooked vegetable. Now the dessert, I have a really sweet tooth and must confess desserts are my favourite part of the meal, until this particular occasion when slapped in front of me by a snotty waitress was a pathetic excuse of uncooked trifle sponge and a dollop of what seemed to be angel delight, delightfully horrid, would never bless that place with my appearance again.
