Misguided and unfriendly folk tend to be scathing about the Fens. At first hearing an invitation to Welle Creek sounds rather like the location for a re-make of The Blair Project. Not a bit of it. Here is a small, well-run family-run hotel with good local backing and a restaurant at the forefront of the operation. The menu is traditional and unfussed, in keeping with the well-managed informality of the entire establishment. Adequate wine list with well-priced house wines.Modern British

This really is a hidden gem with a clean, friendly, and relaxing atmosphere, along with superb food. Though somewhat a bit out of the way, it really is worth searching this one out. We have eaten there three times now and it has delivered every time. I love it.

This little hotel is a revelation. It looks like any small hotel from the outside but once inside there's a surprise. The décor is top drawer contemporary and the welcome is warm. The food is of exceptional quality - fresh, well cooked, beautifully presented and piping hot. The service is friendly but professional and the choice is great - some old favourites for the less adventurous, together with some innovative dishes. Booking is advised as this restaurant is always busy. There is a beautiful garden area with chairs and tables and the public areas are definitely air-conditioned.
