Restaurant at The French Horn Hotel

Sonning-on-Thames, nr Reading, RG4 6TN

The French Horn continues to get rave reviews due, as ever, in part to the riverside setting, the quality of the food but perhaps more than anything the fact that you can go there and know with perfect confidence that everything will be right. If there are ego trips at work here they are well concealed, but in the main one has the impression of a group who have taken pains to gather together the various facets of what a well-defined strata of people want when they dine out, and do it. The results are there for all to see and The French Horn should be an obligatory point of reference for all who review and enjoy good food and wine. The experience does not come cheap, but perfection seldom does and when you have created it you are entitled to reap the rewards.

REVIEWS OF Restaurant at The French Horn Hotel

Nigel Antell (2 September 2008)

The food is wonderful and service is consistently the best I've ever received anywhere, but also with a friendly nature you don't receive in a great deal of places. The ambience of the restaurant is also excellent. I'd describe it as warm, cosy and intimate. The lawns and gardens are always immaculate, even after the flooding it often receives from the Thames. I've been with my wife several times now over the years, and will continue to do so for as long as possible. Long may it continue under its current ownership.

Dan Hynes (5 February 2003)

An amazing restaurant. We have eaten there 3 times (my girlfriend claims this is her favourite restaurant of all time), great service, relaxing atmosphere and wonderful food. Highly recommended. Parking spaces are limited
