Restaurant at The Golden Ball Inn Description
The Golden Ball dates back to 1728 and is the oldest licensed premises in the Ironbridge Gorge. The restaurant is situated in the original brew house and has a wealth of character and charm. Their menu is updated daily and incorporates local and seasonal produce where possible. They serve modern dishes with influences acquired by Chef and owner Mat Rowland over twenty years in the business. They always have fresh fish, game (in season) and locally reared beef and lamb dishes along with a vegetarian option. Traditional Sunday lunches are extremely popular. Booking is essential for weekends. They also have a bar area which serves bar meals, real ales and Belgian beers along with a great choice of wine by the glass and bottle.

My hubby and I went there one snowy afternoon on our wedding anniversary. The whole pub was warm and inviting and the members of staff were incredibly friendly. The food was so delicious and although I was very full I finished it all off. Definitely recommend, but I also want to keep it a bit secret so it does not get too busy and crowded.

We held our daughter’s twenty first birthday meal there. The food was excellent and came out of the restaurant on time. It was well presented, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Made us feel very special and had a fantastic night. Many thanks to all the staff.
