Restaurant at The Hempel

The Hempel is located in a leafy Garden Square and is essentially a boutique hotel. In keeping with its other approaches to everyday living they pay special attention to the important matter of eating, recognising that its guests may lead lives that are out of the box and have personalised requirements. To this end, there is a wonderful restaurant with an understated sophistication that appeals to many. The look is muted and expensive with chic white walls, a fireplace of crushed oyster shells and subtle lighting.

Only the best British and European ingredients come together to create a marvellous seasonal menu where one of the signature dishes is pan fried Scottish diver scallops. Other favourites include the roasted Charolais beef and poached wild Cornish line caught brill. A delicious but supremely light dessert could be the liquorice parfait with rooibos tea jelly, lychee and coconut.

In addition to this, The Hempel offers No 35, a space for power meetings by day fuelled by refreshments, a haven of tranquillity in the evenings with fine wine, Cognac, piano sounds and oh-so-attentive service.
