Restaurant at The Holcombe Hotel Description
A delightful, family-run 17th century hotel houses an attractive restaurant, tastefully decorated in fashionable blue and yellow, offering classic French cuisine with additions. Start with the mountain of smoked salmon, drizzled with lemon and dill dressing before progressing to slow roasted duck breast on a bed of flavoured rice noodles served with a sweet plum sauce. Then for me it would have to be the bread and butter pudding served with custard. Whilst these dishes may sound relatively simple in themselves they are prepared and served with an expertise, which comes through clearly. The wine list is a lesson in discernment with house wine from £11.50.
