Restaurant at The Hoops Inn
Horns Cross, Clovelly, EX39 5DL
The Hoops Inn has been a landmark on the main route from North Devon to Cornwall via Clovelly for many centuries and is still a great destination for locals and visitors who seek a warm welcome, good food and drink. Owners Gerry and Dee Godwin also provide stylish and comfortable accommodation. The kitchen, with its very talented team behind the scenes, has earned a great reputation for the food and drink offered. Not the kind to rest on laurels, they constantly strive to get even better. They endeavour to use high quality local produce, such as meat, fish and cheese and beer wherever possible. They source special suppliers to offer the best that Devon can produce to give their guests a true taste of the countryside. The Hoops Inn has been a landmark on the main route from North Devon to Cornwall via Clovelly for many centuries and is still a great destination for locals and visitors who seek a warm welcome, good food and drink. REVIEWS OF Restaurant at The Hoops Inn
Pat (16 February 2008)
I had lunch there the other day. The staff are very helpful and attentive, but I found the food expensive and disappointing. The chips were undercooked and soggy and cooked in beef dripping which left a nasty aftertaste.
Sarah (8 September 2006)
The food was good, however the wine was expensive and not chilled. I found the owners very rude and aggressive. Would not go back for this reason .... they should look at their customer relations closely!
