Restaurant at The Horse & Groom Description
Throughout the country the land is rich with old pubs, which have been taken over by chefs and transformed into very handy little money machines. Inevitably they tend to polarize but here at The Horse and Groom it has not happened. 'Peoples of all classes' (and it has to be said, conditions) mingle happily in this free and easy place. Nicola and Phillip met whilst at catering school and now they run a place that must be the envy of many. There really are no criticisms one can make and it is a real joy to see two such competent and lovely people making such a success out of being genuine in every way.
To say that house wine kicks off at £7.95 merely emphasizes the point.

We ate at the Horse and Groom Inn last night and wanted to report an extremely good experience. The service was friendly, well advised and helpful. The atmosphere is wonderful; old style pub but well spaced and comfortable. With this as a starting point the food definitely did not disappoint - well presented, local and exceptionally tasty - rounded off by a superb mixed platter of desserts. Top notch!
Follow the chef (2 February 2008)
Chef Philip is now the owner of this 2A Restaurant in Malmesbury. He is still cooking and providing food that even caught the eye of Delia Smiths attention when she dined previously at the pub. It is only two miles down the road, with parking in the town centre, and is well worth a visit.
