Restaurant at The Old Mill

We stayed at The Old Mill recently for a 'special occasion', and were more than pleased to find this hidden gem in the wolds. We were surprised at first to find people staying for a week, as we thought that it would be an overnight stop, or a two night type of place, but we soon realised why others were making a week of it. If you are prepared to travel only a few miles, there is plenty to do and see in the area and, as the previous review said, the food really is superb. The only problem is that your waistline will grow while you stay, but who cares, when it is this good. The hotel is definitely a 'family run' place and everybody is friendly and can't do enough for you, but the standard of accommodation, service and, as said, the food are top class. We can't wait to go back and have realised that this is the sort of place that makes a break in this country, and beats the fag of flying abroad with the risk of poor service and mediocre food hands down.

Recently stayed there while house hunting in the area and found the hospitality and food (especially the food, mmmm!) superb. As we have now bought a house in the area we shall endeavour to make this our local, although I shall have to take up some form of exercise as the food is on par with any city’s finest establishments, London included!
