Restaurant at The Old Rectory

103 Yarmouth Road, Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich, NR7 0HF

The Old Rectory Hotel is pleasingly located amidst one acre of matured gardens overlooking the Yare Valley. The building, often referred to as 'the best kept secret in Norwich', was built in 1754 and was converted to a homely venue in 1995. The kitchen is run by Chef James Perry who delights you with the contemporary cooking style that has earned him two AA rosettes For a start, try the roasted marinated pigeon breast salad with walnuts, orange segments, rocket leaves and a Norfolk honey and soy dressing. Your main course choice could be seared fillet of wild sea bass on a warm celeriac, puy lentil, pine nut, mint and vine tomato salad with rainbow chard then topped with tapenade. A gloriously sinful end to a meal comes in the form of sticky toffee spiced apricot pudding served with vanilla ice cream and a jug of butterscotch sauce.
