Restaurant at The Otterburn Tower Description

In many ways this historic country hotel is a celebration of local skills, produce and enterprise. The Chefs have their own kitchen garden. Nearby Longwitton Farm provides the finest lamb and beef, and with ingredients like these the chefs are well able to provide some of the best meals for many miles around, from recipes both old and new.

Within an à la cârte menu look for Northumbrian game pate with red onion marmalade or a double baked cheese soufflé with caramelised onion and wild mushrooms, followed by beef and black pudding olives in a rich red wine sauce or braised Longwitton steak, slow cooked in real ale sauce and served on sweet potato and celeriac mash.

For pudding red berries gratin with a champagne sabayon and tuile biscuit, or apricot frangipane tart with honey crème anglaise make a rousing finish to a meal served in beautiful surroundings by staff who clearly know what they are about.

An excellent lunch menu serves well the ever increasing numbers of visitors to this hitherto little-known region.
