Well, there's no lack of confidence here at Purton and the much-extended former vicarage is a haven of tranquility and calm, with restful colours and excellent staff. As an ardent critic of conservatory extensions, particularly when applied to dining arrangements, for which they tend to supply a capital-efficient and charm-deficient solution, it has to be said this one works. The same is also true of the business of eating which is stylish and embraces an imaginative approach to largely traditional food. A well-sourced wine list with house wine at £11.50 completes the picture. Awarded the RAC Blue Ribbon and 2 AA Rosettes one has the feeling that here are people who know what they are doing - and care about it.
