Restaurant at The Priest House Description

The Priest House has recently been extensively refurbished after a mercifully brief period in 2000 when it became 'Priest House in the River'. The results are impressive and the historic core of this extended building remains. The restaurant, however, is chic and minimalist, making a good setting for the avant garde cuisine, which might start with smoked loin of lamb well set off by a lavender and rocket salad. The rabbit, flavoured with pesto and served on a white pudding with a haricot bean casoulet gives a new dimension to this homely fare and to finish I could think of little better than the bitter chocolate and calvados torte, served with apricot fool. House wine at £13.95.
