Restaurant at The Royal Oak Inn
Station Road, South Brent, TQ10 9BE
While still wearing the mantle of a traditional pub, The Royal Oak in the village of South Brent, post refurbishment, has transformed into a charming gastropub serving real ales, modern British and European food as well as lighter bites and snacks by the bar. The chef prides himself on using only local and fresh produce while seasonal elements hold sway over the menu, which changes every six weeks to reflect availability. Typical starters might include scallop, black pudding and Parma ham parcels, with pea puree and tomato dressing followed by wild boar sausages, red onions, mash potatoes, mushrooms and red wine jus. For dessert, a little indulgence in the baked lemon tart with raspberry sorbet and orange and blossom honey tuille should make a pleasant diversion. While still wearing the mantle of a traditional pub, The Royal Oak in the village of South Brent, post refurbishment, has transformed into a charming gastropub serving real ales, modern British and European food as well as lighter bites and snacks by the bar.
