Restaurant at The Royal Standard of England

Forty Green, Beaconsfield, HP9 1XT

They are probably some of the few to do away with the rather clichéd 'twist' that most pubs have applied to traditional meals. The Royal Standard of England in Beaconsfield is proud to be associated with food which bears the epithet of grandmother's cooking with ease. With a rich historical background and an atmosphere that is welcoming and warm, it's no wonder they are a popular spot for a drink or two with friends or a lovely family meal on Sundays. On weekdays the menu features starters of devilled kidneys on fried toast followed by traditional favourites such as chicken, leek and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes or chips for the main course. Treacle tart with a hint of ginger is served hot with custard, cream or ice cream and there's a selection of cheeses of course.

REVIEWS OF Restaurant at The Royal Standard of England

Ellis (3 September 2009)

I went for a Sunday lunch with the kids and dogs after a long walk, and what could be better. I stepped in history and the atmosphere was such that everyone was well looked after. The adult portions were split in two and served on two plates for the kids; they even cooked up two smaller pieces of fish rather than split a big one. Much impressed and we all enjoyed it. It’s a great place to take any foreign visitor - the Americans just love it.
