Restaurant at The Stafford Hotel

Despite the formal looking setting of The Stafford restaurant, located in the hotel of the same name, the atmosphere is surprisingly informal. There's a choice of opting for either a prix fixe or a la carte menu. Dishes on offer range from starters such as sautéed langoustines with mascarpone tortellinis served with a red pepper sauce, followed by steak and kidney pudding with oysters and ale, or seared scallops with roasted tomatoes, flageolet beans and crispy porscuitto. There's even that most English of desserts on offer a good old-fashioned sherry trifle that's every bit as good as you remember it. The other good thing that The Stafford is known for is the fine quality of its wine and the impressive knowledge of its sommelier.
