REVIEWS OF Restaurant at The Swan Hotel

Catherine (27 April 2009)

We went there for a birthday lunch on a Sunday - I have to say that the food was just okay - it wasn't really French. There was only a choice of roast beef, salmon or lamb - more like a traditional English Sunday lunch. The service was poor - lots of staff but none of them walked around with any purpose - very slow. The surroundings looked very tired and in need of updating - dead flowers on the table and dirty toilets.

Geraldine Bathe (18 February 2007)

The food was of high quality and it was good to see local produce in evidence. a fixed price lunch (£14) was value for money and included a glass of French wine which was acceptable. The surroundings were elegant and comfortable although the toilets were average!

The only criticism was the poor service. Dirty cups from the previous customer were not removed from the lounge table where we waited for 30 minutes, despite the presence of a maitre d'hotel who at no time welcomed us or asked us our opinion. Poor show.
