Restaurant at The White Hart Hotel Description
Dorchester-on-Thames is well endowed with history and charm and the White Hart makes its contribution with the added attraction of good food in its lovely restaurant. The original 16th century features including oak beams and gorgeous old stone fireplaces beautifully complement the refurbished bar and AA rosette awarded restaurant.
The style is modern without neglecting the well-tried favourites. Glazed goats' cheese and black pudding with poached cider apples accompanies delicious smoked haddock chowder, a worthy introduction to a simple grilled rib eye of English beef with home cut chips and a tomato compoté.
Top of the list for dessert could well be the warm Belgian chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Lively conversation can be enjoyed in the bar accompanied by a range of real ales, quality wines and a selection of spirits. Private dining is available for up to 20 people.

Although part of a hotel, the bar/pub/restaurant has bags of character. Small-ish, warm and cosy inside, it has stone floors and wood panelling at the back. A sympathetically period restored building it’s a great place with great food, good priced drinks and really friendly staff to boot!
This just happens to be one of our local hang outs (lucky us). Food is modern British/European we've never been disappointed. Although at the bottom of the busy Kington/Hampton Wick roundabout it’s always a popular watering hole attracting locals and visitors to its benches and parasols out at the front in the summer.
Good all rounder will please anyone from couples wanting a quiet night to drinks with friends, parents and even the children (also very child friendly).
