Restaurant at Ty'n Rhos

Having stayed at Ty'n Rhos just a couple of weeks ago I am delighted to say that the poor service experienced by the previous reviewer is definitely off the menu. I booked Ty'n Rhos as a romantic break for my wife and I, and we have nothing but praise for both the staff and the service we received. The room itself was comfortable and inviting with fluffy white dressing gowns and extravagant furnishings. The dinner in the restaurant was superb with no excessive waiting time between courses and just the right amount of attentiveness. If there is one complaint it's that they have no draught lager, but that's just being picky. We recommend this place for those who want a luxury break with gourmet food in a country house set in the dramatic Welsh countryside.

It’s a follow-up to my review of the 17th September. Shortly after placing the review, I received a phone call from the proprietor, who was very upset at the negative feedback and felt unable to account for my comments. I did feel, rather, as if I was being reprimanded for having the nerve to complain! However, I have today received a letter of apology and a full explanation that the weekend on which we stayed was indeed a disastrous one for them, in that their prima donna chef was subsequently dismissed, and changes in the restaurant/kitchen arrangements have been made to overcome the problems we experienced. It would appear that Mrs James had looked more fully into the circumstances and, on reflection, appreciated the validity of my comments. In addition, she has made a gesture to compensate us should we chose to return. I appreciate that all businesses, experience difficulties but it is important that customers are not made to suffer as a result-I hope that all these difficulties are now resolved and, if that is so, then Ty'n Rhos would certainly be a delightful place to stay.

Now that my honest and factual review has been taken seriously I shall certainly be prepared to give Ty'n Rhos a chance to prove its worth.
