Delightful place, though like the best of us, a little past its heyday, which adds to pleasure. The place oozes old world charm and is personified by the mildly eccentric owner Jane Bishop, who runs the place with her family. The buffet breakfast is available to non residents from 7 AM. The cream teas are something of an institution locally. The dinner menu includes duck and port pate at £5.75, black tiger prawns flashed in garlic butter to start. For mains, there are the likes of pan fried lambs liver or fillet of local plaice meuniere at £11.95. Lunch is only served on Sunday, when guests arrive for drinks at 12.30 and sit down together at 1.00.
