Restaurant at Wykeham Arms Description
The Wykeham Arms opened its doors in 1755 and they have never been closed since. It owes a good deal to its location but the real appeal is the informality, the equality and the good but unpretentious food which finds its way to your table by means of charming and friendly service. Eight specials are on offer daily, starters are incredibly good value and the desserts are just plain wicked. Wine list has integrity without ruinous mark-ups and house wine at £10.95 represents sound value.

The apotheosis of the English Town pub. Very atmospheric surroundings, with memorabilia both from Winchester College and centuries of regulars. Several blazing log fires on winter days. A short but original and varied menu changes quarterly, there are often interesting specials, and quality is, in my experience, uniformly high. But its reputation has spread, so that booking is essential.

Wow! One of the best places I have ever eaten at. Superb menu, generous portions, wonderful service, reasonably priced. Superb atmosphere set in close proximity to the cathedral, the only downfall is they are usually booked weeks in advance, you have to plan your visit, go and experience it yourself, you will not be disappointed.
