Restaurant at Ynyshir Hall Description
A real escape route for the overstressed and under-appreciated. Everything about the hotel smacks of high standards and no exceptions are made in the kitchens and restaurant. Dining is a ritual commanding not only gourmet food but also the accessories that give it that edge. There is a choice of menus and your only problem is likely to be reaching a decision. It is often appropriate to say that local produce is predominant, but the sourcing and presentation of these materials to table reaches new heights at Ynyshir. The wine list alone justifies the visit - over 300 bins expertly selected from all round the world. Awarded Four AA Rosettes in 2005.

We did not stay at the hotel, but booked for lunch. This truly was a pleasant surprise. £32 for 3 courses is excellent value for money.It got us thinking that this meal was the same price as most Saturday evening dinner-for-2 meals are in shabby bistros, but the quality here was exceptional. This was a real 'under-the-radar' meal.
Any chef who provides the choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts is very confident of his abilities, and we were certainly not disappointed. Every single item on the plate deserved to be there. I love it when chef provides delightful little samples between courses. It really shows that someone lives and breathes food and wants to share their inventions with others. It is a pleasure to be served by waiters who actually care about food and wine and can hold a decent conversation.For a meal you will not forget, I can highly recommend Ynyshir Hall.
