REVIEWS OF Restaurant Bar & Grill - Harrogate

Jason (19 March 2009)

Harrogate finally has a top class restaurant with fantastic service and food and most of all they hold networking lunches.

Aimee.X (12 March 2009)

The Restaurant Bar and Grill sells beautiful, freshly made dishes, they are a well know business throughout the nation. Located in the centre of a historic town called Harrogate which is very famous for spa water and royal bath, and now the Turkish baths also, which are, opposite the restaurant itself. As I approached the restaurant I could not help but see the large mirrors placed accordingly around the large room, this gave a warm welcoming feeling with the dimmed lights which contrasted with the creamy leather seats and the dark solid marble tables. When seated the smartly dressed waiter came to show us a wide selection of drinks, but I just settled with a diet coke, but Sean decided to be a bit more adventurous and asked for a fruit infusions tea, when our drinks arrived I took one look at the tea and took an instant dislike but after trying it, my taste buds took a liking to it. But I just settled with what I knew and that was my ice cold coke. When the waiter came to take our order there was such a variety to choose from, but we decided to share a small serving of Thai prawn cakes with a sweet chilli sauce, as we finished them we decided to order our main courses; this included crispy duck with Chinese greens, sesame and honey dressing and also a 8oz Aberdeen Angus rib eye with roasted vine tomato and mushroom.

It took a while to come but it was definitely worth the wait, the waiter came out with a large slab of meat with gilled vegetables and it looked very appetizing and the crispy duck followed drizzled in honey dressing. As the crispy duck entered my mouth the warm dressing swirled around the duck made it so worth the wait and the Chinese greens yet again did not look very appetizing but after trying one or two on my fork I fell in love. I asked Sean how his was, he did not want to talk as he was so much more interested in his food; after a while he looked up and he was more than pleased with his meal, as I couldn’t finish mine he had a small taster of mine and demolished that too. After a while of finishing we were asked if we had finished and if we would care to have the dessert menu we then replied no as I was stuffed like a chicken at Christmas. As we were just asking for the bill, many more people arrived and were seated very quickly. It was a very enjoyable meal and was just the amount that we would expect. The bill came to a reasonable £44.15. As we left the busy restaurant, placed in our hands were some mints and a leaflet for money off our next meal; we were very pleased with our meal and would certainly go back again.
