My wife and I ate supper at the restaurant. Being of Swiss descent from Wisconsin and very familiar with traditional German/Swiss food, the meal we had at Restaurant Britannia was the best meal of our 3 week stay in Switzerland and reasonably priced. We had the veal/pork sausage called Kalberwurst and the Swiss style hasbrowns called Rosti potatoes. The Kalberwurst was excellent, just like the kalberwurst made by the old Swiss sausage makers in New Glarus, WI. The rostis with Gruyere/Swiss cheese and onions were absolutely mouthwatering. The meal was also served with a nice salad and homemade bread. The service was great. The young 23 year old Swiss man that waited on us was friendly and attentive to our meal. He is a major asset to the restaurant. We had a wonderful conversation with him. If we return to Switzerland, we will definitely return to Restaurant Britannia, as well as Brig.
