Richard Phillips at Chapel Down

Two well known names, Richard Phillips and the Chapel Down vineyard have got together to create a marvellous country restaurant in Tenterden that offers some of the best wines of England along with delicious and contemporary British food. The eclectic décor of this superb dining establishment varies from the buzzy atmosphere of the lively kitchen as backdrop or the luxurious privacy of the leather tiled room that curiously makes you feel as if you were inside a huge wine barrel!

The menu is peppered with choices such as salmon and crab fishcake with pickled cucumber and tartare sauce for starters, followed with grilled calves' liver, caramelised onions, creamed potatoes, bacon, red wine and sherry vinegar sauce as a hugely satisfying main course. The decadent dessert lists includes bitter chocolate tart with strawberry salad and milk ice cream while wines from Chapel Down naturally feature in the simple and concise list.
