Located between Abergavenny and Crickhowell, Llanwenarth Hotel comes with more than its fair share of local vistas, with most of the bedrooms overlooking the River Usk. The in-house Riverside Restaurant with its floor-to-ceiling windows and beige furnishings bring in a convivial atmosphere and during summer months get closer to nature on their terrace area, designed in a Mediterranean style and taking in views of the valley beyond. I wholeheartedly agree with Dr Hughes, the Riverside Restaurant is a gem. My husband and I have stayed at the hotel on a few occasions and have eaten in the restaurant each time. The food was superb and excellent value. Long may they reign.

Okay, it is 2009 now and I still rave about this restaurant - the pleasant staff, the bargain 3 course early dinner and the fabulous views. The house wines are excellent. All the staff remembered my visits exactly one year ago, now that is what I call personal service.
