Riverside Restaurant Description

One of three eating spaces within the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, offering spectacular views, contemporary art in abundance and fine architecture.

Lunches and light meals are served from midday to 4.30 pm. Two hours later it reopens with a full modern British menu that certainly draws the crowds in. A very social place, expect to find starters of asparagus with balsamic vinegar followed by shellfish linguini.

A large terrace with mind bending views provides one of the most chic places in the city for drinks at any time of the day, perhaps a light meal, or some social dalliance.

We had a great meal in this fantastic restaurant on the Gateshead side of the quayside. 3 course meal, delicious cheese soufflé to start, sea bass for main, fish was delicious, and lemon tarte to finish. Great service, surprised restaurant wasn't more busy for a Saturday night, but that just made the visit more exclusive. I paid £35 per head including wine. Well worth a visit. David Wilson, London.
