Rivington Bar & Grill - Greenwich, The

Honest, unpretentious British cooking featuring simple ingredients brought together with as little fuss as possible to create delicious meals, paired with an excellent selection of wines, ales and beers seems to be the forte of Rivington Bar and Grill. This Greenwich restaurant is part of the Picturehouse building and is an ideal spot for lunch, dinner or drinks before or after a movie. The decor is deliberately kept free of any extravagance, with its whitewashed walls and stripped wooden floors, while the sofas in chocolate leather lend a touch of relaxed and unhurried chic.

They are open all day, so drop in for a hearty breakfast of bubble and squeak with fried eggs and mushrooms while later in the day, Cornish crab with toast and mayonnaise is an excellent way to start. Follow on with a main course of Lyme Bay scallops with sea purslane and bacon and finish with an indulgent chocolate mousse. The wine list seems to predominantly favour the Old World.
