Rock & Sole Plaice
47 Endell Street, London, WC2H 9AJ
Established way back in 1871, Rock & Sole Plaice wins the honour of being one of the capital's oldest fish and chip shops and as such is head and shoulders above most of the competition when it comes to style and quality. There's the option to dine upstairs in amongst the hustle and bustle of the takeaway service or to venture downstairs to the other calmer restaurant area. Classic cod and chips is of course the star of the menu but more adventurous options include tuna and Dover sole.Fish & Chip

REVIEWS OF Rock & Sole Plaice
JIm The BIm (13 December 2007)
The quality is excellent. The chips were dreamy, the fish fantastic, some of the best fish n chips ever. After living in London for years it’s about time to find a real place instead of the awful grotty, oily pits you end up at after a few too many pints. Long live the Rock and Sole Plaice.
Duncan (31 January 2004)
I’d wanted to try this place for a while but I’m afraid the experience was rather disappointing. The fish had been left in the fryer a little too long. Overall it was nothing special I’m afraid.
