Rock Garden

The Rock Garden's fantastic location on the corner of the historic piazza, only minutes from the tube station, together with the quality of the food and service, results in it being one of the most popular restaurants in the area. The expansive Modern British menu is complimented by a weekly changing Specials Board offering the choice of some of the best seasonal produce.

The menu caters for all tastes, with a number of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, that compliment the traditional favourites like fish and chips and the famous Rock Garden gourmet burgers.

Starters of Norfolk duck liver and port pate served with onion jam and toasted brioche, or deep fried Somerset Camembert are both served in generous portions, but the star of the starters has to be the Rock Garden antipasta for two people, with selected continental charcuterie, olives taramasalata, houmous, mozzarella, slow-roast tomato, barrel-aged feta, roast peppers and rocket and Parmesan, with a vegetarian version also available.

Amongst the roasts are loin of British pork with sage and onion stuffing and red wine jus, escalope of Loch Duart salmon, and corn-fed chicken breast chasseur with creamed potato. The char-grilled 8oz Scottish rib-eye steak is escorted by linguine with picked crab, garlic, chilli, olive oil, parsley and white wine amongst other decadent dishes.

Desserts are splendidly wicked with warm waffles served with pear and cinnamon compote, vanilla ice cream and chocolate, rich chocolate brownie and deliciously creamy vanilla crème brulee with brandy snap biscuits. Neal's Yard supplies a good selection of cheeses which often frequent the Rock Gardens Specials Board, to accompany a highly recommended glass of Taylor's 10 year old port.

The restaurants separate areas of the terrace, ground and first floors give the Rock Garden the benefit of creating an atmosphere that is ideal for an array of occasions from a first date to a birthday celebration.

The Restaurant can accommodate parties of up to 36 on the 1st floor, 54 on the ground floor and 67 on the outdoor terrace - which throughout the winter months has weather protection and patio heaters to keep the area warm. For further information, why not visit their Website?

An additional benefit is that the sister venue The Gardening Club is located downstairs and is open for dancing and drinking until very late, seven days a week.

Diners at The Rock Garden are offered priority entrance, eliminating the requirement to queue.

The Gardening Club has a capacity of 250 and a popular and varied music policy. The friendliness of service remains the same as The Rock Garden and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. There are also a couple of VIP areas with leather sofas and their own bar; these can be reserved on a minimum spend arrangement (not hire fee), ideal for those celebrating any kind of special occasion.

The Gardening Club plays host to in-house run club nights on all seven nights a week, but is available for exclusive hire, an ideal venue for cocktail receptions, product launches, presentations or parties.
