Rose Murree Description
Inspired by the Himalayan hill station that is as timeless as it is breathtakingly beautiful, Rose Murree in Edgbaston, Birmingham is quickly becoming a preferred dining spot for Indian cuisine that is daringly different as it is elegant. Step inside the striking Georgian building for a dining experience that is refreshingly different from your usual curry house fare, and accustom yourself to some splendid service amid an atmosphere that is refined and welcoming.
For starters, the char grilled lamb chops marinated with herbs and spices are an excellent choice, and the Kashmiri influence is avidly present in the main course with chicken prepared with cream, almonds and sultanas. Other popular choices could be the murgh wazaa, a popular dish cooked with onions, capsicum and tomatoes, with hot and sweet flavours of the valley. Amongst the signature dishes, look for the boneless spring chicken barbecued on skewers combined with minced lamb in a rich masala sauce. The bar is stocked adequately with a wide range of spirits, wines and champagnes.

The food was fantastic, really fresh and fragrant. The presentation was excellent and the portions were spot on. The decor is elegant and unpretentious, whilst the staff are attentive and very polite. The prices are reasonable and the wine was surprisingly good for an Indian restaurant. It seemed like we were eating home cooked food in luxurious surroundings. We highly recommend it.

Situated on Hagley Road not too far from Broad Street I was pleasantly surprised with my visit to Rose Murree Indian restaurant. The setting is really nice and the downstairs bar and lounge gave us the impression we were in for a treat. We had a few drinks downstairs where the service did not disappoint. I enjoyed the surroundings downstairs and the sound of flowing water from the water features made it all a soothing and relaxing start. We were taken upstairs to the main restaurant which was spacious and airy. The server seated us by one of the windows and we were promptly offered poppadoms and chutney which we didn’t say no to. A candle was lit for us and we were given menus by the server. The menu was perfect and not too overloaded and had a range of dishes to suit plenty of tastes. Our orders were taken promptly and drinks bought over immediately while we munched on the poppadoms, and I have to say it was the best onion salad I’ve ever had. Okay, I could right a novel on my visit but I will finish by saying we had no complaints with our starters or mains and the wait for both was not long at all. I will be making Rose Muree my regular. The service was excellent and very attentive. Overall, a good dining experience with value for money. I will be spreading the word.
