Roseland Inn

Philleigh-in-Roseland, Truro, TR2 5NB

The Roseland Inn has sat opposite the St Philleigh church since the 16th century, it was formerly a coaching inn on what was the main London to Land's End road which crossed at the River Fal at what is now the King Harry Ferry; with the coaching days long gone, the Roseland Inn is still popular with travellers. The pub offers a wide selection of freshly cooked food, which uses local and organic ingredients wherever possible. Specialising in serving good food in a warm friendly relaxed atmosphere, in recent years The Roseland has won many culinary awards including Best Catering Pub in the South West and The Daily Mail Best Pub in Cornwall 2002. They endeavour to source all their food locally to offer the very best and the freshest produce everyday, and we also try to use organic wherever possible.

All food is freshly prepared and for a light lunch you can choose from proper job ham, roast beef and horseradish, or fresh Cornish crab sandwiches, or coronation chicken, smoked salmon, cream cheese and chives, or tomato, mozzarella and basil ciabattas, or ham, cheddar, beef, or stilton ploughmans. They also cater for children.

As well as their daily changing specials board they have a range of popular light bites including grilled goats cheese, served on a bed of rocket and sun blush tomatoes with a balsamic dressing, home-made hummus with olives, side salad and fresh bread or a locally smoked fish platter.

Their main dishes offer locally caught fish like whole baked local megrim sole or grilled fillets of sea bass. Their prime rib eye steak, classic Philleigh shank of lamb and Thai green chicken curry are also firm favourites amongst their many regulars and visitors.
