Rosemary Lane Description
This tiny jewel of a restaurant on Royal Mint Street provides excellent French-Californian food with a tidy wine list. A typical meal could begin with yellow fin tuna tartare, mango, avocado, cucumber and croutons or white asparagus and rocket salad, prosciutto, white truffle dressing, with mains courses such as slow roasted magret of duck, honey roast peaches, cherry merlot sauce or grilled filet of halibut, orange tomato nage, shallot and garlic confit.

Over attentive, try-too-hard staff made for very uncomfortable dining in a deserted restaurant. Our waiter messed around changing cutlery so much he broke my wine glass. The food was disappointing; lamb shank served without any option of veg or potatoes, risotto tasted flavourless and after complaining, we were told 'sorry, the chef doesn't use stock in risotto'. Only one vegetarian dish meant I did not have the pleasure of choosing what I would eat. All in all, a disappointing experience.
