Rumwong Description
Rumwong was opened in 1976, when Thai food was still quite a rarity in Britain. Perhaps partly because of this it was a success from the start so much so that now it is much in need of expansion. Rumwong Thai Market opened in 1991, alongside the restaurant and has become a major supplier of Thai commodities in UK. The food at Rumwong is much praised and in the Khan Tok Room there are no chairs, only cushions on the floor where diners sit and eat authentic food in authentic surroundings. The menu for this room would occupy far more space than is available; suffice to say that in some ways it's perhaps a good thing I do not live anywhere near Guildford.

I have eaten at many Thai restaurants, but after visiting Rumwong, I can’t stay away. The food is prepared to the utmost excellence, the service, and friendliness second to none. It is such a pleasure to sit in comfortable and well designed surroundings, giving you a really good feeling that you want to be there. This is certainly my number one restaurant.

Great! Every time the waitress made her way to our table I had to stop myself from clapping! The lovely food, service and atmosphere - we just love the place. It has become our Thailand away from Thailand.
