Russell, The Description
The Russell is a delightful country pub located in Butlers Cross, Ellesborough, on the edge of the Chilterns between Princes Risborough and Wendover. Beautifully restored by its owner, it is the place to visit and enjoy all the traditional values of British innkeeping.
If you are feeling puckish, then their main menu, serving Modern British food, has delicious starters, main courses and lots of yummy puddings. Or you could select from their bar menus, offering lighter meals both at lunchtimes and in the evenings? All the dishes are available in both the bar and restaurant.
The bar at The Russell is open everyday, lunches are served between 12 and 2.30 pm (Sunday lunch until 4 pm) and evening meals served from 6.30 pm until last orders at 9.30 pm. The extensive wine list at The Russell hosts over 35 wines and champagnes, all available served by the glass.

I dined with friends at The Russell. After some difficulty choosing from a superb menu decisions were made, and each of us were more than delighted by our choices. We all agreed that our meals were excellent, accompanied by good wine, and pleasant helpful staff - our compliments to a superb chef.

It was a delight to tuck into super lunch time fare. Both traditional Sunday lunches and summer holiday salad treats: imaginative selections and trustworthy descriptions - no surprises, but quality approved. If you don't walk here, come early for the parking and then walk off any excess kilos.
