Saddle Restaurant Description
Many's the time on winter nights with snow blocking the road to Penrith that the friendly bulk of the hotel at Scotch Corner, with its overtones of an RAF Officers Mess from the pre-WW2 building boom, has loomed out of the whitening dark offering shelter and reassurance. This is now a budget hotel offering decent traditional cooking working to a menu that, whilst not in the gourmet class, is satisfying and very good value. For around £14.50 a head it is possible to eat well and certainly a lot better than some of the over-priced competition to the south on A1(M).
