Nice, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, service first class, great value for money. We will definitely go there again!

The former Staddlestones Restaurant in Woodmancote has been totally transformed. Now relaunched and renamed the Saffron Lounge this fine establishment offers a fantastic sleek contemporary interior with clean modern lines.

Our party of 6 were clearly impressed with the décor and the ambiance. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the lounge before being shown to our table, Clean white beautifully pressed table linen, quality tableware and the sparkling glasses created the perfect setting for our meal.

We were spoilt for choice by the new influence of Portuguese cuisine on the more traditional Indian menu. Five of our party ordered from the new signature menu which offers a delicate touch, producing dishes that are contemporary, fresh and truly unique. Three of us ordered the Malabar Seafood Molee, a combination of fish and shellfish cooked in coconut milk with spices and served with basmati rice. We were not disappointed ! It was superb and unlike most modern restaurants, the portion sizes were more than generous. We selected an excellent reasonably priced South African white wine to compliment our Seafood Molee whilst the men folk enjoyed a selection of Indian beers.

To finish our meal, there was an excellent choice of delicious mouthwatering desserts.

This is one of the most creative modern Indian restaurants around and well worth the short drive from Cheltenham Town.

If you do wish to drive we found adequate car parking outside the establishment as well as unrestricted roadside parking.
