Saffy's Cafe Bar & Brasserie Description

Saffy's Cafe Bar and Brasserie, located on Dalblair Road, ought to feature in any food lovers' itinerary to Ayr as their reasonably-priced, well-cooked food has already earned a loyal customer base. The interior is done up in a discreet manner and could easily pass off as just another café, but that notion holds true only till the food arrives.

Chef Douglas Smith's gainful insights on combining Mediterranean cooking styles with flavours from across the world is laudable, and he also uses fresh, seasonal produce to build his daily carte. Start with a crisp smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes with creamed leeks, or king prawn tempura with chilli, ginger, garlic and coriander dressing. In the Italian style there are main courses of chicken linguine carbonara and lasagne al forno, but the oven baked breast of chicken stuffed with haggis, whisky and mustard cream is pretty hard to resist.

The team at Saffy's have designed menus to suit every mood and occasion, so choose from a selection of festive, specials, pre-theatre or express lunch menus.

Your Reviews of Saffy's Cafe Bar & Brasserie

A Muncie (1 June 2009)

Out for a drive on Sunday from Livingston and stopped at Saffy's for lunch. The food and service was first class, I would recommend this place to all our friends.

Mike (3 May 2009)

My friend and I had lunch at Saffy's last Tuesday. We were really impressed by the ambience, service and especially the attention to the customer since I have specific dietary requirements. It was really great to find a restaurant who were willing to adapt the menu to my needs and not make a big fuss about it and still make the food taste fantastic. A definite place to revisit.
