Sake No Hana

Sake No Hana comes courtesy of the man who bought the illustrious Hakkasan and Wagamama to London. Alan Yau's latest venture is housed within a listed building and the décor is quite enchanting with immaculately arranged wooden and bamboo struts bringing a Zen-like appeal. The seating is designed in a manner that may require you to remove your footwear as the tables are low and appear to be standing on a sunken floor but those resistant to that idea can sit western-style.

Ordering from the extensive menu is quite a task but some helpful notes from the attentive staff tend to make things easier. King crab and cucumber and lotus root kinpira may be a good idea to start. From the grill section the miso Chilean sea bass comes wrapped in a houba leaf while pork ribs with sugar snap and Japanese pepper is listed amongst braised selections. Sake features prominently on the drinks list.
