What a nice surprise it was to find the Brasserie 206 which is within the grounds of the Milford Hall Hotel in Castle Street.

We were greeted in the most welcoming and friendly way by a waitress with a lovely Bristol accent and shown to our table. The waitress gave us menus and took our order for drinks before running through a substantial list of specials for the day.

What a shame that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy as the food was fantastic. Homemade bread rolls with our starters; good size portions and scrumptious homemade desserts.

My partner had tiger prawns to start and they smelt so good, I had to taste one! I opted for the smoked duck and goat's cheese salad and was not disappointed. It was freshly prepared and very appetising.

We both chose lamb for our main course and once again we were not disappointed. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the lamb was moist and tender.

Finally we selected an amazing home made mango cheesecake and a chocolate and Malibu mousse - both delicious.

If you haven't found the Brasserie 206 yet, I thoroughly recommend that you seek it out. We are going back next weekend to try their three course Sunday lunch menu which is priced at a very reasonable £14.95 per person and sounds lovely!

It is definitely our new favourite place to eat!
