Salpicon may mean 'splash' in Spanish but this restaurant has more zing to it, excelling in serving classic and contemporary Mexican cuisine. The interior manages to encapsulate the owners Priscila and Vincent Satkoff's warm personas with its bright yellow and blue walls and artwork by renowned Mexican artist Alejandro Romero.

If you just expect tortillas of different sizes prepare for a  menu that is bound to throw some surprises in the form of jalapeños stuffed with Chihuahua cheese, dipped in a light egg batter, sautéed and served with a black bean sauce, and cilantro crêpes filled with Mexican fungus, huitlacoche, serrano chiles and served with a poblano cream sauce. Quail in Ancho Honey Sauce is an extremely popular dish while the beef tenderloin in a spicy Morita chile sauce with shiitake mushrooms is a spontaneous creation.
